Foundations of Coaching Softball

• https://softball.ca/onlinelearning/foundations
• Part 1 takes approximately 2 hours to complete online and is required.
• You only need to complete the course one time. 
• You'll need to create an NCCP# to start the course
• Part 2 is not a requirement to coach but we encourage you to take this course as well.
• Southfour will reimburse this cost for coaches. Submit receipts to southfourtreasurer@gmail.com 
• MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 1, 2026

Safe Sport Course

• https://calgaryminorsoftball.com/content/safe-sport
• This course takes 1-1.5 hours to complete online
• Free of charge to all participants
• MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 1, 2026

Respect in Sport (RIS) For Activity Leaders (no longer required)

• This course is no longer a requirement for coaches unless a coach is taking a team to Provincial Play.
• If going to Provincials, coaches must complete the RIS course.
• Southfour will reimburse this cost for coaches going to Provincials. Submit receipts to southfourtreasurer@gmail.com 

Keeping Girls in Sport (New for 2026)

• Coaches must complete the Keeping Girls in Sport course.
• Please connect your Keeping Girls in Sport to your NCCP profile. This can be done in the Keeping Girls in Sport portal under the Profile section by allowing communication to the NCCP.
• MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 1, 2026

Police Check 

• Complete the Calgary Minor Softball Police Check procedure.
• CLICK THIS LINK to see coaches whose Police Checks expire this season.
• Any coach living in Calgary needs to email policechecks@calgaryminorsoftball.com to get a voucher from Calgary Minor Softball Association to complete their check online.
• Police checks must be completed every 3 years
• MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 1, 2026
• Note: Calgary Minor Softball (CMSA) will cover the cost of your police check if you request a volunteer voucher from CMSA before applying online (see link above). Southfour will not reimburse any coaches that pay for the police check directly instead of using the above CMSA link.
